Buenos Aires, March 13 (NA) – National Deputy for Córdoba Natalia de la Sota held a meeting in Brazil with Finance Minister for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Fernando Haddad, with whom she analyzed the bilateral relationship between the two countries and the strategic role of Mercosur.
The meeting took place in São Paulo, where both agreed that the brotherhood between Argentina and Brazil makes the ties between the two countries permanent beyond governments. In this context, they highlighted the strategic value of Mercosur by considering that it allows countries to negotiate with greater strength and intelligence in a complex global scenario and in the face of the reinforcement of commercial protectionist strategies by the world's main economies, as learned from the Argentine News Agency.
During the meeting, De la Sota expressed special interest in the economic and social achievements of the current Brazilian government, as well as in the policies that allowed the expansion and strengthening of technical education in direct connection with industry.
Both also shared a common view on the role of the State in promoting growth with equity and reaffirmed social justice as a guiding principle of public policies, with the objective that development reaches everyone.
They also agreed on the need to deepen spaces for political cooperation and exchange of experiences between leaders of the two countries, with the conviction that regional integration is built from concrete action and democratic commitment.
At the end of the meeting, Haddad stated: "It was very gratifying to meet with Natalia, an exponent of the new Argentine politics. A key member of Lula's cabinet, he was Brazil's Minister of Education, mayor of São Paulo, and a presidential candidate for the Workers' Party, and in 2023 he was appointed Minister of Finance."
